Our Story

What started as a way for Greg Fransen to pay for school back in 1984 has blossomed into a lifestyle for our family. A summer fishing in Bristol Bay consists of long days, lots of work and lots of coffee. An encounter with grizzly bear is often more common than a hot shower and trip to the store means catching a flight or jumping in a boat. It isn’t always pretty, and some days feel as though they might never end, but those are the days that we look back on with the most satisfaction. And that satisfaction after a hard season is what keeps us coming back year after year.

Ask any fishermen and they’d tell you they don’t keep doing it just for the money, they do it because it is what they love doing. We are no different.  We love what we do and wouldn’t trade our summers for anything.  We also love sharing our passion with others.  With over 60 years of combined experience in Bristol Bay, fishing has become more than just a summer job; it’s a lifestyle. If we could take every one of you fishing with us, we would.  Unfortunately, that isn’t possible, but what we can do is share the magnificent taste of Wild Alaskan Sockeye with those of you who want it. That is why we want to share our product. We work tirelessly each summer to get the purest salmon straight from the pristine ecosystem of Bristol Bay and into good hands, and each one of us loves doing it.
